As a group health plan, ZaneHealth is required to comply with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). In addition to establishing fair and equal treatment requirements for employee benefit plans, ERISA requires that the responsibilities for those who manage the plan be defined, and that participants receive plan information through a Summary of Plan Description (SPD).

Specifically, ZaneHealth:

  • Prevents discrimination within a group of similarly situated individuals
  • Prevents employer involvement in the purchase or selection of employees' health insurance policies

  • Provides a Summary of Plan Description (SPD) to participants (for more information, see "Plan Documents")
