No More Health Insurance Waivers for Annual Limits
Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) set a September 22, 2011 deadline for limited-benefit health plans to apply for a waiver from the annual benefit limit requirement in the Affordable Care Act.
The federal government also released a list of the plans that have already applied for waivers and their approval dates. To date, the administration has granted waivers to 1,433 health plans covering 3.2 million people. Approximately 100 applications have been denied.
